Health Account saves physicians up to 10 minutes in patient consultations
HippocrAItes’s Health Account consolidates an individual's health information in one place and automates many processes. "We are talking about significant changes that could have widespread structural impacts," says Associate Professor and Chief Physician Merja Laine, who participated in the user research.
The healthcare sector is actively developing solutions to efficiently provide doctors with up-to-date patient health information. Currently, a large volume of data is scattered across various systems, and nearly 97% of all patient data remains unused.
The Health Account brings together a person's health and wellness information in one location. The effectiveness of patient summaries generated using the Health Account has been evaluated with doctors from various medical fields. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
“When information is more accessible, it helps doctors gain a clearer understanding of the patient’s overall situation, freeing up time for patient interaction instead of searching for information, and speeding up treatment processes,” says Merja Laine, expert at HippocrAItes.
Physicians spend nearly half of their time on EHR
According to the Journal of General Internal Medicine, doctors spend up to 45% of their time working with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
"Based on the current findings from the user study, the Health Account saves doctors about 10 minutes per patient consultation," Laine reports. Doctors believe that streamlining information eliminates unnecessary tasks and frees up resources for patient care.
Health Account implements EHDS goals: Standardizes data danagement and improves patient Safety
The European Health Data Space (EHDS) creates a unified and secure way to utilize health data across the EU. EHDS aims to improve healthcare quality, enhance patient safety, and strengthen patients' rights to control their own information.
The Health Account supports the goals and development of EHDS by, for example, enabling better personal data management, reducing waiting times, and optimizing healthcare resources.
“Healthcare is moving towards standardization. EHDS is opening interfaces that promote data sharing and accessibility. Our Health Account concept enables more personalized care for patients while supporting next-generation medical analysis methods that leverage comprehensive patient data and AI applications,” says Pekka Honkanen, Chairman of the Board of HippocrAItes, who will speak on the topic at an event in October.
HippocrAItes will host a free event on October 2nd in Meilahti, where the possibilities of the Health Account in healthcare will be presented.
In addition to Honkanen, speakers include Associate Professor and Chief Physician Merja Laine, Professor of Data Science Frank Emmert-Streib from Tampere University, and Krishna Singh, Technical Business Development Director at AWS HealthLake.
