HippocrAItes is building the future of European healthcare with its EHDS-compliant platform

The EHDS regulation, adopted by the EU in March 2025, initiated a transition toward more accessible and interoperable use of health data. HippocrAItes developed the Hippo Health Platform on Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud to support this change.

The Hippo Health Platform integrates national data repositories and individual wellness sources into one secure health account that supports clinical decision-making and streamlines care processes. Users can manage and share their own data, while doctors get a clear view of patient health information. This saves time—up to 10 minutes per appointment—and improves care quality.

The platform is audited by THL and Kanta-compliant. It leverages AWS HealthLake, which supports the FHIR standard and enables data storage, analytics, and interoperability across the EU.

Use case: iLääkärit

iLääkärit, specializing in remote consultations, has integrated HippocrAItes’ platform into its service model. Patients can grant doctors permission to view their health data, reducing the need to recall details during appointments. This improves continuity of care and frees up time for patient interaction.

The platform significantly reduces administrative burden and supports the implementation of the personal doctor model in a digital environment.

Technology and interoperability

The Hippo Health Platform uses AWS cloud infrastructure and the FHIR standard, enabling data integration from multiple sources and its use in analytics and decision-making. The Hippo Clinic interface provides doctors with a clear and comprehensive patient summary to support efficient care.

HippocrAItes is the first European provider to offer an EHDS-compliant platform for both individuals and professionals. Patients can manage their own data, and professionals gain tools that support real-time decision-making.

Competitive advantages and future direction

The platform’s patient-centric approach, modularity, and EU-wide scalability make it unique. In spring 2025, HippocrAItes received the MyData Award for promoting human-centric data management and transparency.
In autumn 2025, HippocrAItes will join the MANAGE-AI research program to develop ethically sustainable AI solutions in collaboration with VTT and the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health.
